As wind and solar take a growing share of Kenya's generation mix, the grid's ability to absorb that variable output becomes the binding constraint, not generation capacity itself. Battery storage and broader grid modernisation investment are what let a grid say yes to more renewables rather than curtailing them, and Kenya's storage market remains genuinely nascent, more early-stage opportunity than established asset class.

We advise on storage projects both as complements to existing generation, batteries paired with a solar or wind asset to firm its output, and as grid-level infrastructure in their own right. Because so few storage projects have been financed in Kenya to date, much of this work is feasibility and technology selection rather than following an established playbook, understanding what scale and chemistry actually make sense for a specific grid location and its role, not applying a template built for a different market's grid dynamics.
